Ernest I (Duke of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha)

Ernest I was born on January 2nd, 1784.  Ernest I's father was Francis (Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld) and his mother was Augusta (Countess Reuss of Ebersdorf).  His paternal grandfather was Electors of Saxony. He had a brother and a sister, named Ferdinand and Victoria.  He was the oldest of the three known children.  He died at the age of 60 on January 29th, 1844.
