David  was born in 1664.  David 's father was Alexander Standish and his mother was Sarah Alden (Standish).  His paternal grandparents were Myles Standish and Barbara Mullens or Allen; his maternal grandparents were John Alden and Priscilla Mullins (Alden). He had two brothers and five sisters, named Miles, Ebenezer, Lydia, Lora, Mercy, Elizabeth and Sarah.  He was the youngest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Ichabod and Desire.
