Elizabeth's father was Samuel Williams and her mother was Ann Millington.  Her paternal grandparents were John Williams and Elizabeth Broughton; her maternal grandparents were John Millington and Margaret Youd. She had two brothers and six sisters, named John, Samuel, Mary, Ann, Ann, Rachel, Margaret and Frances.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 85 in March 1883 in Prescot.³
