Michael's father was Emanuel Stocks and his mother was Susanna (Hannah) Wood.  His paternal grandparents were Joshua Stocks and Elizabeth Bingley. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Isaac, Peter, Joseph, Benjamin, Joseph, Emanuel, Ruth, Thomas, Mary, Susanah, Martha and Elizabeth.  He died in July 1779 in Kirkheaton.  His burial was on July 11th, 1779 in Kirkheaton.
