Richard was born in October 1798 in Shocklach and his baptism took place there on October 28th, 1798.¹

Richard's father was Richard Mullock and his mother was Jane Richards. His maternal grandparents were Richard Richards and Anne Phythian. He had four brothers and two sisters, named George, Thomas, James, Robert, Mary and Jane. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 52 in September 1851 in Cuddington.²

Death Notes
- Richard appointed (his brother) James and George Battarbee (his nephew) as testators for his will. He was a farmer of Cuddington, but no mention of Cuddington Mill.

- Richard Mullock, farmer, of Cuddington (in 1851 probate record) left his estate to his wife, for the rest of her life or as long as she remained his widow, or a thirs if she remarried. The executors were his brother James and cousing George Battarbee.
