Richard was born in 1742 in Tilston, St Mary and his christening took place there on July 22nd, 1742.¹

Richard's father was Joseph Richards and his mother was Hannah Large. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Joseph, John, Joseph, Jane, Mary, Hannah and Sarah.  He died at the age of 81 in February 1823 in Shocklach.  He was buried on February 4th, 1823 in Shocklach.^2 3

• General Notes

  Richards's will describes him as a Publican at the Fish Inn, Shocklach Oviat. He had to pay his sister Margaret Hopley, and each of her children £5 each from his fathers estate.
  
  A Richards, possible the same person, also had the Emral Arms in in Worthenbury, Flintshire.  Pricard brother-in-law Thomas Phythian farmed in Worthenbury, so this may be a connection.
