Harold was born in March 1894 in Darwen.¹

Birth Notes

Harold's father was John Mather and his mother was Mary Jane Miller. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Mather and Elizabeth (Betty) Marsden. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Isaac, John, Abraham, Henry, Mary, Esther and Ruth. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 1 in 1895 in Walton-le-Dale.¹
