Ann was born in 1792 in Harwood and her baptism took place on May 27th, 1792 at St. Bartholomew (Great Harwood).1  Ann's father was Henry Howarth and her mother was Ann Dugdal. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Jonathan, Alice, Jane, Mary and Betty.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.
