Henry was born in 1853 in Tottington.1  Henry's father was Robert Hennings and his mother was Susan (Susannah) Twist.  His maternal grandparents were Jonathan Twist and Ann (Nancy) Lomax. He had a brother named Adam.  He was the younger of the two known children.
