Ann, known as Nancy, was born in 1801 in Breightmet.1  Nancy's father was Joshua Lomax and her mother was Anne (Nancy) Wood.  Her paternal grandparents were John Lomax and Sarah Settle. She had three brothers and a sister, named Susannah, Robert, Mary and Ellen.  She was the second youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 76 in 1877 in Breightmet.

‌Nancy and Jonathan were married in a religious ceremony on August 13th, 1820 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).2   They had two biological sons and five biological daughters, named Joshua, Peter, Susannah, Mary, Nancy, Sarah and Deborah.  They also had an adopted son named Adam.  There are possibly more children.
