Dorothy was born on January 27th, 1909 in Lawrence County, Missori.  Dorothy's father was August A Gripka and her mother was Martha Bruenn.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Gripka and Mary Daus; her maternal grandparents were August Bruenn and Regina. She had five brothers and six sisters, named John, Joseph, Jerome, Sisbert, Lawrence, Agnes, Frances, Rose, Fridoline, Clara and Ruth.  She was the fifth youngest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 96 on February 23rd, 2005 in Aurora, Lawrence County, Missouri.  She was buried at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Aurora, Lawerence County, Missouri.1

Dorothy and Richard were married in a religious ceremony on July 31st, 1926.  They had five sons and a daughter, and also five children of unknown gender, named Richard, Jerry, Charles, John, Lawrence, Maragret, Miller, Miller, Miller, Miller and Miller.
