Johanna Gesina was born in 1834 in Zwolle.1  Johanna Gesina's father was Johannes Martinus Volk(e)ring and her mother was Lubertha Barbara We(e)link.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan Wessel(s) Volkering and Euphemia Maria Jöring (Joring(s)); her maternal grandparents were Jacob Klaas Welink and Maria Elisabeth van den Broeke. She had two brothers and nine sisters, named Gerrit Jan Wessel, Jacobus, Jacoba Maria, Johanna Geziena, Johanna Geziena, Wilhelmina, Geertruida, Gerridina, Gerridiena, Gerridina and Martha.  She was the third youngest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 69 on October 13th, 1903 in Zwolle.
