Gerret van der Schalij 
Gerret was born in 1792 and his baptism took place on April 15th, 1792 in Dordrecht. Gerret's father was Schalk Corneliszn van der Schalie and his mother was Neeltje Woutersdr de Beer. His paternal grandparents were Cornelis Corneliszn van der Schalie/Schally and Aeltje of Alida Cornelis van der Borcht of Burg of Borg; his maternal grandparents were Wouter Pietersz de Beer and Maria Anthonisd Swaans. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Cornelis, Schalk, Wouter, Wouter, Gerrit, Maria and Neeltje. He was the second youngest of the eight children.-
