General Notes

According to information from Pat Horton of England, Ellen Ballard married Walter Lee (born 1852, joiner, of Sheffield, Yorkshire) in 1874.
In the 1891 census they were recorded as resident at 168 Cooksley Road, Bordesley, Birmingham.
Their children were:
- William Walter Lee (born 1876) - 1
- Ada Ellen Lee (born 1877) - 2
- George Frederick Lee (born 1878) - 3
- Lawrence Charles Lee (born 1880) - 4
- Emily Jane Lee (born 1882) - 5
- Florence Jane Lee (born 1887) - 6


1 - William Walter Lee married Elizabeth Garvey (born 1876).  In the 1911 census they were recorded as living at 99 Bordesley Green Road, Saltlet, Birmingham.  Their children were Elizabeth May Lee (born 1900), William Walter Lee (born 1902), Ellen Lee (born 1904), and Arthur Robert Lee (born 1906)

2 - Ada Ellen Lee married Arthur Jacques (born 1873, Birmingham).  In the 1911 census they were recorded as living at 131 Coventry Road, Hay Mills.  Their children were Ada Jacques (born 1877), Arthur Jacques (born 1899), Eva Jacques (born 1902), Walter Jacques (born 1904), Ivy Jacques ( born 1908), and John Jacques (born 1910).

3 - George Frederick Lee married Ellen Wiiliams (born 1881) in 1900.  Ellen was the daughter of John William (born 1848) and Eliza Elizabeth Capenhurst, and her sister was Eliza Williams (born 1875).
The children of George Frederick Lee and Ellen Williams were Elsie Lee (born 1902), Doris Lee (born 1904) - 3a, Hilida Lee (born 1906), and George William Lee (born 1916) - 3b.
- Doris Lee - 3a (born 1904) married Harold Edge in 1926 - their daughter Dorothy Edge married Kenneth Woodridge, and they had 2 daughters, one of whom was Diane Woodridge, born 1962, died 2012.  These 2 daughters of Kenneth and Dorothy Woordridge had 5 children - Edward, Jonathan, James, and Amelia.
- George William Lee - 3b (born 1916) married Eileen Elsie Goad.  Their daughter Lynda Eileen Lee (born 23 July 1943) married Ken Caswell, and their son Jonathan Caswell married Liz, producing a son Max Caswell.
Note that the brother of Eileen Elsie Goad was Frederick Goad who is the father of Pat Horton (who supplied this information).

4 - Lawrence Charles Lee (master boot maker) married Harriet Ann Baxter (born 1876, Bilston) in 1904.  In the 1911 census they were recorded as living at 3 Briarwood Road, Aigburth, Lancashire.  Their children were Marjorie Gertrude Lee (born 1906), Phillip Charles Lee (born 1908), and John Lawrence Lee (born 1910).

5 - Emily Jane Lee married George Gold - their child was Ruby Gold.

6 - Florence Jane Lee married William Griffiths in 1907.
