Rack was born in 1773 in North Thoresby, Lincoln, England and her christening took place there on March 27th, 1773.  Rack's father was John Rack and her mother was Sarah Ling. She had four brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Thomas, Gervais, Ann, Frances, Hannah, Mary and Elizabeth.  She was the third youngest of the ten children.
