Jane was born in 1838 in Grimsby, Lincoln, England and her christening took place on May 4th, 1838 in Saint James Church, Grimsby, Lincoln, England.  Jane's father was John Rack and her mother was Harriet Johnson.  Her paternal grandparents were William Rack and Sarah Mumby. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named John, William, Joseph, George, Harriet, Rebecca, Sarah, Mary, Betsy, Rachael and Harriet.  She was the fourth youngest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 20 in 1858 in Grimsby, Lincoln, England.  She was buried on January 19th, 1858 in Saint James Church, Grimsby, Lincoln, England.
