George was born in 1841 in Grimsby, Lincoln, England.  George's father was John Rack and his mother was Harriet Johnson.  His paternal grandparents were William Rack and Sarah Mumby. He had three brothers and eight sisters, named John, William, Joseph, Harriet, Rebecca, Sarah, Mary, Betsy, Jane, Rachael and Harriet.  He was the third youngest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 59 on March 31st, 1900 in Union Workhouse, Grimsby, Lincoln, England.  He was buried on April 3rd, 1900 in Scartho Road Cemetery, Grimsby, Lincoln, England.
