Mrs Harriet Coller (Harriet Martin)

Harriet was born in 1829 in Latton, Essex, England and her baptism took place on November 15th, 1829 in St Mary the Virgin, Latton, Essex, England.¹

Birth Notes
- Baptism: page 24, entry number 187.

Harriet's father was Mr John Collar and her mother was Mrs Hannah Chipperfield. Her paternal grandparents were Mr Rippingale Collar and Mrs Judith NK. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William, George, Martin, Sarah, Mary, Frances and Anne. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She died due to Stangulated Hernia at the age of 64 on May 4th, 1893 in General Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England. She was buried on May 8th, 1893 in Tunbridge Wells Cemetery, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.²³

General Notes
- Not sure what is going on with her: 1861 with baby in Leicestershire, living with Tutt family. 1871 Living in Tunbridge Wells, same street as Love Family but has changed name to Harriet Martin (Not remarried but using brother name as a alias surname). Still claiming to be Harriet Martin in 1881 and 1891, living in Tunbridge Wells (Looking after Walter Coller in one census). Dies in 1893 and is buried as Harriet Bennett. 1871 Census lists her as Widowed when she is still married, her baby has vanished and her husband later remarries. Strange...!
