Anna was born on January 29th, 1890.  Anna's father was Christian Hansen-Ankersen and her mother was Caroline Jessen.  Her maternal grandparents were Johannus Jessen and Katrina C. Krownberg. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Christian Jr., John, Charles, William, James, George, Maria (Mary), Sophie, Dorothy and Elizabeth.  She was the third oldest of the eleven children.
