William was born on June 8th, 1828 in Seaton and beer.  William's father was John Boalch and his mother is Mary Whitmoor.  His paternal grandfather was William Hodge Boalch and his paternal grandmother is Phoebe Litton. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, John, Thomas, Robert, Frederick, Marianne, Sarah, Elizabeth, Martha and Matilda.  He is the tenth oldest of the eleven children.
