Elizabeth was born on June 27th, 1823 in Seaton.  Elizabeth's father was John Boalch and her mother is Mary Whitmoor.  Her paternal grandfather was William Hodge Boalch and her paternal grandmother is Phoebe Litton. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, John, Thomas, Robert, William, Frederick, Marianne, Sarah, Martha and Matilda.  She was the seventh oldest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 72 in 1895.
