Christian was born in 1745.  Christian's father was Frederick_V and his mother was Louisa Hanover.  His paternal grandparents were Christian_VI and Sophie Magdalene; his maternal grandparents were George_II Hanover and Caroline of_Ansbach.  He was the oldest of five children.  He had a brother and three sisters, named Christian_VII, Sophia Magdalena, Caroline and Louise.  He had a half-brother named Frederick.  He died at the age of 2 in 1747.
