Alexandrine was born in 1803.  Alexandrine's father was Frederick William_III and her mother was Louise of_Mecklenburg- Strelitz.  Her paternal grandparents were Frederick William_II and Frederica of_Hesse- Darmstadt.  She was the sixth of ten children.  She had five brothers and four sisters, named Frederick William_IV, William_I of_Germany, Charles, Ferdinand, Albert of_Prussia, Charlotte of_Prussia, Frederica, Louisa of_Prussia and Daughter Stillborn.  She died at the age of 89 in 1892.
