Adela was born in 1062 in Normandy,France.  Adela's father was William_I the_Conqueror and her mother was Matilda of_Flanders.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert the_Devil and Herleva; her maternal grandfather was Baldwin_V of_Flanders.  She was the third of ten children.  She had four brothers and five sisters, named Robert Curthose, Richard, Henry_I Beauclerc, William_II Rufus, Constance, Cecilia of_Holy_Trinity, Agatha, Adeliza a_nun and Matilda.  She died in Marcigny-sur-,Loire,France.
