Barbara was born on May 17th, 1744.  Barbara's father was Peter Groff and her mother was Barbara (Groff).  Her paternal grandparents were Hans Gof (Groff) and Susanna Orendarf Kendig. She had six brothers named Jacob, John, Anna, Henry, Peter and Andrew.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 72 in 1816 in Lancaster, PA.
