Alpheus was born in 1839.  Alpheus' father was Richard Glover and his mother was Sarah  Street (Glover).  His paternal grandparents were Amos Glover and Drusilla Spurgin. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named William, Elizar, George, Andrew, John, Harrison, Amos, Preston, Elizabeth, Drusillan, Angelena and Harriet.  He was the third youngest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 65 in 1904.
