Richard was born on October 10th, 1923.  Richard's father was Joseph Wieseler and his mother was Susan Barthelemy.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Wieseler and Renata Schmidt.  He has two brothers and two sisters, named Dominic, Robert, Dorothy and Katherine.  He is the second oldest of the five children.
