George F was born on May 10th, 1881.  George F's father was John Wilhelm Balfanz and his mother was Alvina Springstroh.  His paternal grandparents were Martin Wilhelm Balfanz and Caroline Klein.  He had five brothers and two sisters, named Charles W, William, Henry John, Edward August, John H, Anna Louisa and Lydia.  He was the fifth oldest of the eight children.

Rose was born on April 15th, 1911 in Milwaukee, WI.  She died at the age of 85 on January 9th, 1997 in Lincoln, IL.

George F was born on May 31st, 1914 in Madison, WI.  He died at the age of 76 on October 4th, 1990.
