John Salisbury

John was born in September 1897 in Preston, Lancashire, England.¹ John's father is Joseph Salisbury and his mother is Alice Birch. His paternal grandmother is Mary Greenwood; his maternal grandparents were Edward Birch and Ann Mayor. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Edward, Thomas, James, Joseph, Frederick, Ann, Susannah, Margaret Ellen and Alice. He is the nineth oldest of the ten children.
