Male John Rodgers

John was born on May 24th, 1853 in Dunstone Newbold, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England.1   John's father was John Rodgers and his mother was Ann Fretwell.  His paternal grandfather was Godfrey Rodgers and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Sharman; his maternal grandfather is John Fretwell. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Henry, William Henry, Samuel, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Maria and Eliza.  He is the fourth oldest of the nine children.

John and Mary Ann were married in a religious ceremony on May 17th, 1888 in All Saints, Aston, Rotherham, West Yorkshire, England.2   They had two sons and four daughters, named Ernest, John Henry, Edith Hannah, Rhonda, Maud and Myra.
