Father Jack O'CONNOR 
Father Jack was born on January 29th, 1916 in Hartford, Kansas.1 Father Jack's father was John Francis O'CONNOR and his mother was Muriel Elizabeth CONNOR. His maternal grandparents were James H CONNOR and Kate MAY. He had a brother and five sisters, named James Hoey, Eleanor Marie, Sister Mary Thomasine, Louise, Betty and Peggy. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He died due to Had a severe illness, which forced his retirement. at the age of 54 on April 12th, 1970 in Denver, Colorado. He was buried in Mt. Calvery Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.2 General Notes
Father Jack was a catholic priest and served in the Leavenworth, Kansas Penitentiary. He started serving at the federal penitentiary in 1954 and served for 14 years there. He was a good friend of my mother, Veronica Kenny. I always remember a joke he would often tell me about three rabbits, ft,- ft ft,- and ft ft ft. I was also fascinated, as a boy, that he knew how to do a trick with his thumb that made it look as if he was separating it from his knuckle.
He always joked with me and told me to go play in the middle of Leavenworth Street, a busy street near-by our house in Omaha.
He received his priesthood at the hands of Bishop Paul C. Schulte in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, on June 7, 1941. The source of these dates came from The Eastern Kansas Register, Fri., June 6, 1941.
