Jan (John) was born on January 20th, 1867 in Plesice, Moravia, Czechoslovakia. Jan (John)'s father was Thomas JANDA and his mother was Katerina OTOUPA. His paternal grandparents were Tomas JANDA and Elenora PROKES; his maternal grandfather was Ian (Jan) OTOUPAL and his maternal grandmother is CHALDEK. He had a brother and a sister, named Jacub and Marie. He had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Thomas, Anton, Frantisek, Jacub, Cyril, Josef, Frantiska, Petronila and Karolina. He died at the age of 70 in 1937 in Nebraska.General Notes
John and his father had a double wedding ceremony on April 26, 1884 when his
father married his new wife's mother Mrs. Mary Blazek. They moved to Lawrence
NE in 1908 to farm then later moved to Deweese, NE.
