General Notes

In his Obit, it says: " A farmer and well know resident of Smith Falls came to his death very suddenly near Brockville, on Monday.  He was working with Mr. Thomas Kilborn on that day drawing stones.  The wagon seat dropped, throwing Balfe forward on the wheel.  Balfe was badly injured and sought attention and medical aid at St. Vincents de Paul Hospital, where he past away that night with injuries to the spinal cord.  He was the father of Mrs. James McGillivray, Market Street and Miss Balfe who is with Frost & Woods Office.  Their Brother Mr. M. Balfe of Lombardy went out to Brockville and had the body brought to his home in Lombardy from where the funeral took place today."

Though I wasnt sure if the following goes with this family, but it looked right, I had in my St. Francis de Salle records a Thomas Balfe married to Margaret Konan?  They had:
Ellen, bapt on 1-6-1868
Patrick born 1-25-1870
Bridget born 9-20-1872
In another record, same parents;
Margaret Teresa 12-2-1887 baptised 12-27-1887
