Michael Fredrick was born on January 12th, 1873 in Ontario, Canada.1 Michael Fredrick's father was Thomas BALFE and his mother was Ann HOURIGAN. His paternal grandparents were Thomas BALFE and Sarah (Sarah) KENNY; his maternal grandparents were Michael HOURIGAN and Bridget MALONEY. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, John J., Mark Leo, Sarah, (Bridget) Leone, Evelyn Ann, Mary T. and Gertrude C.. He was the second oldest of the nine children.
