Eric was born in 1911 in China.  Eric's father was William Katz and his mother was Luba Isabella Abraham Zimmerman (Katz).  His maternal grandparents were Abraham Zimmerman and Hosh-Feiga Mogilevskaja (Zimmerman). He had four brothers and three sisters, named Aron, Morris, Alfred , Frances Valerie, Sarah, Chana Anne and Lillian.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 46 in 1957 in Manilla, Rush, Indiana, USA.
