Elizabeth's father was Thomas Hawker and her mother was Catherine Hill. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John, Thomas, Thomas, Susannah, John, Nancy, Sarah, Mary, Mary and Betsey.  She was the second youngest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 37 in 1808.
