Oliver was born about 1880 in GLASGOW Lanarkshire Scotland.  Oliver's father was Duncan McArthur and his mother was Margaret Speirs Miller.  His paternal grandparents were John McArthur and Sarah McGregor. He had seven brothers and a sister, named John, David, William, Duncan, Robert, Alexander Hamilton, Mathew and Margaret.  He was the second youngest of the nine children.  He died about January 11th, 1922 in Ruchill Hospital, Glasgow.
