Christina was born in 1861.  Christina's father was David Manson and her mother was Janet Mowat.  Her paternal grandparents were David Manson and Esther Taylor; her maternal grandparents were John Mowat and Barbara MacKay.  She had a brother and two sisters, named David, Barbara and Esther.  She was the oldest of the four children.
