Isobella was born in 1820.  Isobella's father was Alexander Begg and her mother was Christina Dunnet.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Begg and Isabella Mathison.  She had three brothers and four sisters, named Robert, James, Alexander, Margaret, Frances, Jane and Elizabeth.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 87 in 1907.
