Thomas was born on May 4th, 1750.1   Thomas' father was Jan Zástěra and his mother was Johana Kubíková.  His paternal grandparents were Václav Zástěra and Anna. He had two brothers and a sister, named Jan, Thomas and Antonie.  He was the youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Bonaventura, Josefa and Anna.
