Symon was born in 1708 in Sprang-Capelle and his baptism took place on April 4th, 1708 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).1  Symon's father was Antoni Janszn Vermeer and his mother is Maria Symonsdr van den Hout.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Fransen Vermeer and Pleuntjen Teunisdr Melen; his maternal grandfather is Symon Aertszn van den Hout and his maternal grandmother was Geertruy Fransdr Stam. He had four sisters named Pleuntje, Pleuntje, Geertrui Antonisdr and Johanna.  He is the youngest of the five children.
