Pleuntje was born in 1690 in Sprang-Capelle and her baptism took place on April 9th, 1690 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).1   Her godfather was/is Daniel Aryenszn and her godmother was/is Ariaentgen Danielsdr. Pleuntje's father was Antoni Janszn Vermeer and her mother is Maria Symonsdr van den Hout.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan Fransen Vermeer and Pleuntjen Teunisdr Melen; her maternal grandfather is Symon Aertszn van den Hout and her maternal grandmother was Geertruy Fransdr Stam. She had a brother and three sisters, named Symon, Pleuntje, Geertrui Antonisdr and Johanna.  She is the second oldest of the five children.
