Arien was born in 1647 in Sprang-Capelle and his baptism took place on May 19th, 1693 in Capelle (Noord Brabant).1   His godmother was/is Aentgen Gerritsdr van der Hoeven. Arien's father was Peter Teuniszn Timmers and his mother was Maycken Geerits Petersdr van der Hoeven.  His maternal grandparents were Gerrit Peterszn van der Hoeven and Thuentien Gerrits Antonisdr Smit. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Gerrit Peterszn, Peter, Jan Peterszn, Thonisken, Neeltgen, Thonisken, Ariaentien and Neeltjen.
