Gijsbert Arijszn was born in 1765 in Fijnaart en Heijningen and his baptism took place there on August 18th, 1765.1  Gijsbert Arijszn's father is Arij Gijsbertszn Schilperoort and his mother is Adriana Versluijs.  His paternal grandfather was Gijsbert Gerritszn Schilperoort and his paternal grandmother is Cornelia Jansdr Rollaf; his maternal grandparents are Cornelis Versluijs and Catharina Coomans. He had six sisters named Caatje, Cornelia, Cornelia Arijsdr, Pieternella, Neeltje Arijsdr and Janna.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 56 on April 10th, 1821 in Fijnaart en Heijningen.1
