Elisabet was born in May 1796 in Amsterdam and her baptism took place on May 15th, 1796 in Amsterdam (Nieuwe Kerk) conducted by Reverend Le Grand.1   Her godfather was Willem van der Schaaf and her godmother was Heijntje Permentier. Elisabet's father was Pieter van de Schaaf and her mother was Elisabeth Huene.  Her paternal grandparents were Jan Willemszn van der Schaaf and Henrica Gerritsdr Parmentier; her maternal grandparents were Jan Hendrik Huene and Anna Geertruij de Haas. She had four brothers and a sister, named Pieter, Pieter, Jan, Hendrik and Johanna.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 51 on February 2nd, 1848 in Amsterdam.2
