Aaltje Dirksdr was born in May 1800 in Nijkerk and her baptism took place there on May 22nd, 1800.1  Aaltje Dirksdr's father was Dirk Rengersen and her mother was Elisabeth Theunisdr van de Geest.  Her paternal grandparents were Arend Rengersen and Grietje Aartsdr Martenszn N.N.. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Teunis, Jan Dirkszn Rengersen, Gerritje Dirksdr, Jannetje and Maria Dirksdr.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children. She had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Rik, Renger, Hendrik, Rijkend, Renger Dirkszn, Maartje Dirksdr and Rikje.
