Samuel was born in April 1664 in Made en Drimmelen and his baptism took place there on April 23rd, 1664.1  Samuel's father was Samuel Pistorius and his mother was Aelke Ariensdr Suijrmont.  His paternal grandparents were Joannes Baptista Pistorius and Wilhelma van der Haghen; his maternal grandparents were Adriaen Aertszn Suijrmont and Geriken Lucas Uijtenbroeck. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Johannes, Adriaen, Arnoldus, Willem, Geertruy and Apollonia.  He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 55 on May 15th, 1719 in Dordrecht.1
