Stijntje Samuels was born in December 1785 in Enkhuizen and her baptism took place there on December 25th, 1785.1 2   Her godmother was Neeltje Jansdr. Stijntje Samuels' father was Samuel Andrieszn Mons and her mother was Elisabeth Jansdr N.N..  Her paternal grandparents were Andries Andrieszn Mons and Steijntje Samuelsdr Schaftenaar; her maternal grandparents were Jan Eijberszn N.N. and Antje Barendsdr N.N.. She had four brothers and a sister, named Jan, Andries Samuelszn, Thijs Samuelszn, Berent and Annetjen Samuelsdr.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 34 on March 18th, 1820 in Harderwijk.1
