Pieternella was born on November 29th, 1805 in Driel and her baptism took place there on December 1st, 1805.1  Pieternella's father was Gradus van Heekesen and her mother was Jenneke de Gelder.  Her paternal grandfather is Matheus van Hekesen and her paternal grandmother was Allegonda van Erp; her maternal grandfather is Arnoldus de Gelder and her maternal grandmother was Cornelia van Keulen. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Mattheus, Arnoldus, Adrianus, Arnoldus, Ida, Allegonda and Jenneke.  She was the seventh oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 55 on September 21st, 1861 in Driel.2
