Hester was born on December 19th, 1819 in Zuilichem.1  Hester's father was Gijsbert Willemszn Hak and her mother was Anneke Hak.  Her paternal grandparents were Willem Hak and Maaike Blomhert. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Crijn Jacob, Mattijs, Peter Gijsbert, Neeltje, Maria, Gijsbertje and Kornelia.  She was the sixth oldest of the eight children. She had four half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Gijsbert, Gijsbert, Willem, Johannes, Maaijke, Meerke, Willemke, Peterke, Petronella, Neeltje, Maria and Anneke.  She died at the age of 33 on December 20th, 1852 in Kerkwijk.2
